The Vortex Viper HD 10×42 Binoculars have been revamped with a broad range of improvements. Field of view is now 341′ at 1000 yards versus the older model’s 319′, delivering a more encompassing image.
An improved Premium HD lens system strengthens image sharpness, brightness and contrast. A shorter minimum interpupillary distance of 56 mm accommodates more users, while the 17 mm eye relief offers more comfort than the previous 16.5 mm.
The new Viper HD line also features a spectacular 5′ close focus so that you can concentrate on subjects that are right in front of you. Some great features from the old series were kept, such as the anti-reflective XR lens coating that maximizes light transmission and the ArmorTek coating that protects the lens surfaces from the scratches, debris and oil.
All of these features are protected in an ergonomic, weatherproof housing with the classic Vortex green finish.

Had these for one day at Edwin B refuge in Jersey… was on a platform over looking a pond… another order experience border walked up next to me and we started talking… he had a pair of 10X42 Swarovski $2,500.00 and I asked him he would look at my new binoculars… he looked through them and said wow! There really bright and clear! I asked Home if I could look through his… the only difference I could see was the Swarovski’s were blur free from edge to edge… but at more than 4 times the price of my vipers I was very please and happy with my new purchase… for the money and quality of these binos you just can beat them… or pony up the $2,500.00 and buy the Swarovski’s for the best binoculars money can buy…

After reading all the reviews, I was so excited to finally get my Vortex Vipers 10×42. I had expected bright, lightweight and easy to focus binocs.Pros:Good priceExcellent warrantyWaterproofSharpLightweightNo chromatic aberration or fringing like I have with my Nikons.Good neck strapEasy to hold.Cons:Not as bright as I had expected. No brighter than my Nikons. This was huge disappointment for me.Eyepiece very uncomfortable against my eyes.Had a very hard time using them with my glasses on. I wear bifocals so maybe that made it worse. But for whatever reason just had a hard time focusing while wearing my glasses. And yes I did adjust the eyepieces per instructions for eye glass use. But right now I am thinking I will want a pair that are much brighter than these and with much more comfortable eyepiece.

Better than expected! I have glasses and the eye lenses are perfect for use with eye glasses on. The clarity is outstanding.

Wow! I had the vortex diamondback 10×42 and decided to try the HD..I use them for birdwatching on my own property and these are amazing! The details I can see now help me identify different birds. Tonight around 11pm I even watched a raccoon and opposum eating leftover seeds on the ground under one of my feeders, (in the dark with just some security light shining in) These come with the bag, padded neck strap, cloth, and even a harness for the bag.

Purchased these as my midrange binoculars. I am a birder and it was time for an upgrade. These binos are awesome! Image is clear and high definition and for the price it’s perfect. Highly recommend if you are looking to upgrade.

Look, Vortex optics are amazing, plain and simple. But this new case with the elastic band is absolutely terrible. I realize they want it to be quiet, however, this band is loose and the flap continually opens without me wanting it to. The shoulder straps are uncomfortable, too. I like the old elastic type much better. For this kind of money, I’d really like a system that was much better thought out for hunting. Magnets perhaps? I don’t know…but this one isn’t it.

This is an outstanding pair of binoculars. Crystal clear, easy to use, and light weight. This by far the best pair I have ever used. Can’t tell how impressed I am with these. I have owned a lot of good to average binoculars but these are in another class. I wear glasses and these work great with them.

Previously owned Bushnell HD Legend Ultra for comparison, night and day.. Vortex are very clear, Bushnell did not honor their warranty as stated, decided to try Vortex no regrets… went with the 10×40 instead of 8×40 , able to see clear at long distance on over cast day… Truly a good brand….
