I love this machine! I searched for what seemed like an eternity for an air purifier but couldn’t find one I liked, and I was also looking for a humidifier. We use this one is our large master bedroom and have been running it nonstop for a couple of months now. The first day after using it my husband commented he couldn’t smell that lingering dog smell anymore so that was a great sign. You can turn the lights off so you don’t get a glare at night, and the beep that lets you know it’s out of water. Instead there is a little light that will flash red when it’s out of water. It will keep purifying the air if it runs out of water which is nice. I use the ionizer option generally during the day when the bedroom door is left open. I did have to read through the directions on cleaning the filters when you get the notification that they need cleaned as it’s a multi-filter machine, but it’s pretty easy to do really. We have hard water and it does build up inside but if you follow the directions, it cleans easily enough. I haven’t checked yet on replacement prices for the filters but we did buy the extended warranty. The only real downside is filling the tank. It’s not the smallest one I’ve used, but it’s not large and depending on how dry your air is, you may need to fill it twice a day. There have been many times though that it has lasted 2 or 3 days. The tank pulls out very easily and it’s easy to put back, however, as is often the case, it’s slippery because the outside is smooth plastic to match the rest of the purifier design, and you have to hold it upright while you fill it because it does not have a flat bottom. I’m usually the one to fill it up; I believe my husband would have a difficult time holding on to it and filling it because of his RA. It’s not much of an issue, but it might be something some people would need to work around somehow (maybe by adding grip tape to the sides). So far it’s far exceeded my expectations and is far superior to others I’ve been looking at or could find.

Received the product. Initially working great then it started making a noticeable sound when running on “low” mode. We called Sharp and they told us to send it in the material and it the nightmare began1. PackagingWe were told to place the unit in the packaging they sent which we did. We get a phone call saying that there was damaged incurred due to inadequate packaging. Now I am left with a unit that is damaged2. NoiseThe knocking noise we hear independent to the plasma cluster noise (which is keep my infant son and 6 year old up multiple times at night) is apparently never detected. We would not have sent the unit to Sharp if we did not find a problem. Furthermore, engineering team did not talk to us and all we had were customer relation team tell us there is nothing wrong. Call us crazy but again we would not have sent the unit if there is a problem3. “The unit still works”The customer relation team tells us that the unit still works but due to damage the front panel has come off and that they are unsure if it is safe to operate. How can a responsible company send a unit back that is potentially unsafeOverall, we are very disappointed with how Sharp handled this situation. We were long time Sharp customers but will never buy Sharp product again.For people reading this review, the product itself for the filtering function is good. But it makes 2 noises, plasma cluster which is quite loud and additional noise when the unit is placed on low speed (which may be just my unit). Customer service is horrible…For the price of the unit, I will not recommend people to buy this.

Airway and life saving for me!I live in Montana, and we’ve been surrounded by wildfires that started 15 July 2017; I am also asthmatic compounded by other *severe* health problems. Initially, I had this air purifier in the living room, but I moved it to my bedroom as the smoke got worse and I had to stay in my “clean room.” Granted, I still had to go to ER, do nebulizer treatments, and a Prednisone “burst,” but at least I didn’t have to become an inpatient, so I am grateful. Yes, I believe having this air purifier in my bedroom helped to keep me alive, because the smoke had gotten so bad.At this point, I would not hesitate to buy another one.I have vacuumed one of the filters, since it was needed. Otherwise, it’s been running 24/7 since it arrived!It is easy to operate, easy to maintain, and easy to move around the house, and most importantly, it works!I definitely recommend the Sharp FPA80UW Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifier.

This products has digital Hydrometer display. Easy to see Hydro level. Very silence so no problem to use if setup distance 3 meter from beside of bed. This machine keeps good condition my throat condition to avoid coughing and avoid to itch due to dry skin. Spare parts are available at Canada. Ag+ ion cartridge is effective to avoid mold corrosion in the tank and water filter. No timer function available. If it is available, this is perfect product.

This sharp purifier was purchased to replace an older model that still works well. Its quiet but except for a ticking noise that will not go away no matter what you do. I’ve tried dampening the surface it’s on but it is clearly the fan or motor. I was going to buy a second unit but this has me worried and is quite annoying when you are trying to sleep. I’m not sure what to do other than request some sort of warranty claim.

I bought a Sharp Air Cleaner 10 years ago and needed another one for a second bedroom/office. It is silent on the low fan setting unless you are standing next to it, and then it sounds like a quiet breeze. Perfect for a noise sensitive person like myself. It was recommended to me by a staff member at Sharp Electronics of Canada and the customer service was very much appreciated!

Air purifier is working fine. But no moisture came out when put it on Clean Air & Humidify. I filled up the water tank and turned it on, then, I found the water still full in the tank three days later. Even I turn it on the max still no any moisture come out. Should I return?

Used in toddler’s room. Ran continuously at low fan speed. Quiet enough that the noise just sounds like white noise that actually helps mask other noise that may wakeup the little one. Big lumps of dust collected on the coarse screen clearly suggesting that it works.
