We bought this 34 days ago on Amazon and didn’t get the extended warrantee because Shark’s is “five years”. Well, it completely quit spinning on the 33 day. I did everything that the troubleshooting guide said to do. Seems like the transmission on the roller brush is stuck or died. It will not spin.Called Shark expecting their famous five year warrantee to be honored. Was told the roller brush part of the “cleaning head” is a “wear and tear” part not covered under warrantee. Said that “normally this is $99 to replace, but we’ll be nice and send you one out for $12 shipping”.I guess I should be happy that Shark is only charging me $12 to replace a part on a vacuum that is a key part used 3 times???Buyer beware!! Get the extended warrantee from Amazon and research if the “power head” is covered — the part with the roller brush.Edit – Figured out what was wrong with this vacuum. SERIOUS design flaw. The area around the vacuum belt is plastic. If you run this for over 30 minutes, IT MELTS!! Shark has to know this. I just can’t believe this thing made it past their QC department. A good vacuum, in a QC/QA test should be able to run for hours upon hours no issues. This thing heats up and melts. We have a fairly big house with lots of carpet. If you’re going to buy this, only do one or two rooms at a time and then two or so more rooms the next day. Anything over 15 minutes and you risk literal melt down! They sent me the replacement “power head” that I mentioned above. Worked twice and melted down after 40 minutes of use!

We have a three story house with steep stairs. We keep a Oreck and canister on the main floor and this for the lower and upper floors. Good on hardwood, decent on carpet, decent on carpeted stairs. A ton of suction and a cord that will do each of our rooms without moving from a central plug. Way easier than hauling the Oreck up and downstairs. Smaller brush head than the Oreck but for the spaces, works great. We live out in the middle of nowhere and can’t get a commercial cleaning service here. So, I dust and vacuum, my wife does the bathrooms and we sort of share the kitchen.Been doing it this way for many years. I know my vacuums, this is a good one.You can buy an under $7 adapter that will allow you to use standard sized attachments on it. EZ SPARES 35mm to 32mm Vacuum Hose Universal Adapter 1-3/8” to 1-1/4” Hose from the Amazon site.

Its a nice, light and easy vacuum. I purchased it on October 2015. The only problem I’ve had with this vacuum its that the nozzle hose has broken. I’ve called customer service because it ahould be under warranty, but unfortunately this part it’s not and it’s about $ 100 to replace. At this point, I think I will buy a whole new vacuum.

I love this vacuum.I’ve owned 2 Dyson’s…the animal, and a handheld cordless. I thought the more expensive, the better…but so WRONG!!! The animal is huge, heavy and cumbersome. I found I would rather sweep up the mess than haul that thing out. So I purchased the cordless Dyson hand vac. But had to replace the battery twice and the charging cord once. This time I decided to go with a Corded hybrid and found this incredible SHARK VAC! It’s insanely light, maneuverable, compact, and easy to store. The suction is way more powerful than the Dyson handheld cordless, probably because it’s plugged into power rather than using a battery. It’s as easy to empty as both the Dyson’s, but unlike the Dyson’s, it can get under the bed and furniture because of its low profile. AT HALF THE COST! WHAT!!??So far, the only downside is that the color isn’t great. Not sure why vacuums are all bold gaudy colors, like a giant power drill or something.

18 months in of twice weekly use and the hose in the powerhead has split. This is the motorized brush head that makes it a vacuum and not a fancy dust buster. The warrenty states that there is a complete list of covered/not covered parts they describe a wearable/ or durable parts but there is no list and even a supervisor would not provide me with a list. Just their say so that the head isnt covered because it’s a durable part?containing a wearable part? and an offer to ship me a new head at 50% off the retail, about 50$ + shipping. That they couldn’t or wouldn’t back up their claim about what’s covered and what’s not in writing was really irritating. I’m sorry I didn’t get the assurion coverage for 3 years from amazon but I didnt think I’d need it.

Purchased this product and within 6 months the roller brush would not turn. Because it had a year warranty from Shark I called them. They would not cover it. Wanted to charge me full price for a new brush roll attachment. Very disappointed that they did not stand behind their product at least for a year (states 1-year factory warranty on the box). Will truly reconsider before purchasing any Shark product in the future.

It started out bad. I had searched cordless vacuum and this was the first thing that came up and I did not read anywhere that it was corded. It also is too heavy at the top for my wife causing her to get fatigued before finishing the house. I guess I got what I paid for but I am not impressed. Amazon mislead me on this one. My fault but I still don’t like the machine either.

we love the shark as long as it is working! The small flex hose in power head near the pivot knuckle has failed twice. there is no replacement parts for these vacs !. Thank God Amazon stepped up and replaced both units. these hoses failed within a months time, BOTH UNITS ! . The third new unit is on way now and hope the hose problem will not be with this unit also. If this one fails also we will get our money refunded and buy another brand through Amazon.

This is the best vacuum that I have ever owned. It is light weight, versatile, easy to do stairs as it has a long cable. Fit’s all my needs, and it doesn’t scare the dog!

Super deal on a great product. Have recently seen this product being discounted by the likes of Canadian Tire too!
