Great Microwave until after 5 months of occasional use it stopped working. Then came the Samsung warranty nightmare. (When I received the unit I did the online warranty registration with Samsung.) While cooking potatoes one day the microwave stopped working and would only blink 12:00 once when turned on then go dark. I placed a call to Samsung and was told that it is a walk in repair and that I needed to take it to the authorized service center that was about an hour drive away. Just before leaving to drop it off I call the service center and was told that they don’t do walk ins. Ok, back to Samsung I go. I was then told that they would set up an in home repair and that I would be contacted within 2 business days to set up an appointment. I waited a week, called Samsung back and explained the situation and was told that someone (from Samsung)would call me back with a resolution within 2 business days. I waited a week called Samsung again and was told that there was no outstanding repair/claim order for me or my microwave, however i was getting VMs from an offshore Samsung rep asking if I am satisfied with their warranty service. The Vms were spoken in such broken english that it was impossible to understand enough to respond. We start the process again with it “it is a walk in and mustbe taken to a repair center”. I have to admit that at this point I am starting to loose patients. To make a long story short after many, many hours on the phone with Samsung and my threatening to notify the Better Business Bureau and place a formal complaint with Samsung Corporate they agreed to refund the purchase price. Samsung requested that I email them a copy of the original invoice. When I complied with their request several other road blocks popped up. (wrong format, not clear enough, not big enough etc.) I was told several times that everything was all set only to receive an email a week later asking for something else. The last straw: eventually I was able to comply with all of their requests and was told that they would be sending me a check for $160. Two weeks later I received another email stating that I had 14 days to send pictures of the s/n tag removed and the power cord cut or the claim would be dropped. I was out of the country without cell coverage or email for 12 of the 14 days. I was once again able to comply with their request and a refund check is suppose to be on the way to me. Oh, and now the refund is $150 rather than the the $160 that I was told it would be. (The value must have gone down after 4 months of trying to get the microwave fixed under warranty.) Samsung did everything that they could to avoid honoring their warranty responsibility. My advise; Stay clear of Samsung and know where you will get service if you need it.

The microwave stopped heating stuff 30 days after having received it. I used it perhaps 10 times. I threw the box away so returning it is too much hassle.Update: It was under warranty and after hours on the phone with Samsung’s nightmare support process. I took it into the authorized service center and it took 3 weeks to get fixed. They said they don’t understand why Samsung didn’t give me a new one since they had to replace a lot of parts that together cost more than the microwave. It’s about a little over a year later and the microwave stopped working again. Everything works except the microwave don’t heat things. It’s probably something minor but even a little thing will cost more to get fixed than buying a new microwave. The next microwave won’t be a Samsung although I do like the ceramic interior. I won’t buy any Samsun appliance’s either if this one is a reflection upon the quality of their products.

Just received this microwave yesterday. I’ve used it several times since to test it out.First, the grilling feature is next to worthless. It may be a neat novelty in a dorm room when all you’ve got is a microwave, and maybe a hot plate, but in a functional kitchen there will be no use for it. It actually takes longer to achieve subpar results next to using an oven on a low broil setting. For this reason alone this item is not worth having. The microwave function is indeed functional, but it seems odd. It is fairly loud, and there are two distinct microwaving states that seems to indicate the magnetometer runs briefly, then shuts off briefly, and turns on briefly, etc, etc. When it turns off and on during use it makes a relatively loud sound, and the internal light surges brightly momentarily. I’m concerned there may be an electrical issue here.I noted that there were no other reviews indicating this problem, but my unit — from the moment it was first plugged in — makes a constant, very high pitched buzzing noise (when it isn’t running). It’s audible from about 10 feet away, and it sounds like it’s coming from behind the LCD screen. Apparently not everyone can hear this noise (multiple people can), so I imagine it is approaching the high frequency limits of human hearing. My particular unit may be somewhat defective, so take that into consideration. I’ll be returning it.
