    New and “revolutionary” cooking appliances are introduced weekly but this device lives up to its hype. The concept is simple..a minimalist convection oven….but Philips makes it work. Having tried a less expensive knockoff, only to return it, this unit at this size beautifully browns everything from fish to chicken to steaks to fries quickly and simply. Cleanup is a breeze and the fryer parks neatly under my upper cabinets. It has displaced my pressure cooker as my go-to kitchen appliance.UPDATE AT 6 MONTHS: Sadly, I must correct my initial report on this appliance. On New Years Eve, my “go to” appliance erupted in flames, causing our guests to flee, and my kitchen to nearly incinerate. After looking at my pictures of the aftermath, Philips proclaimed the problem: not theirs. The fire, they determined, was caused by some external source. Not only will they not deal with my damages, but they will not even replace their defective unit.Let me say that I am not a newbie as far as air fryers are concerned. I have owned 3. The first showed the promise of the appliance but was too small. The second was well sized but, being a reconditioned unit, was prone to turning on by itself(lights going on and bells sounding while otherwise turned off. I installed an outlet switch to deal with its curious habit of turning on unattended and deemed the problem one of the unit being reconditioned….not properly manufactured. I should have taken those quirky behaviors as a warning but I did not. Instead, upon finding a deal on a new unit, I replaced my reconditioned airfryer with a new one. That unit nearly took out my kitchen.My bottom line is beware of this unit until some form of overheat protection is devised. Philips is clearly in denial that there is a problem worth solving and their attitude may/will prove costly to some other purchasers.

    We bought this Oct 2016, and the non stick coating inside the container, and on the pull handle has started to peel off in a bad way!! It is a HEALTH HAZARD!It used to fry and grill to our satisfaction, We would use it 3-4 times a week, mainly for french fries, fish sticks, fried chicken sometimes…. BUT it has a manufacturing fault it seems like it. Take a look at the pics I am posting.     We have ordered and sent back two of these Philips Airfryers. The first had wires loose and it looked used. The more recent ex larg Philips Airfryer order the plug was missing one of the two flat prongs. It looks like a big quality control issue for a product that is suppose to be top of the line. It was a Christmas gift. Can’t Philips do any better than that?

    I received this Airfryer and was so excited to start using it. I unboxed it, read the directions and ready to go! I made a batch of fries and family was raving over how good they were. Then I put my husbands steak in it and ready to cook it, checked the temperature and hit the start button nothing happened. I thought oh no did I blow a fuse or something…. Nope, the machine just quit working!! I only had it for a few hours. Had to box it up and send back. This had really good reviews, just didn’t work for me.

    I have had my Phillips fryer for quite some time now. But noticed early on that if left plugged in to the outlet it would light back up after a few hours. So I just unplugged it when I wasn’t going to use it. Sunday my Aunt was coming over to have some Cornish game hens with me and i plugged it into the outlet and put the hens in side to come to room temperature. A few hours later I walked to the kitchen an found the unit cooking my hens at 360 and there was 2 minutes left on the clock. I had to shut it down. Monday after finishing with the birds I left it plugged in to see what would happen all the lights were off but in a few hours the lights were on and there was 12 minuets on the clock @ 360 but it was not cooking. I caution every one to not leave this unit plugged in if you are not going to be home. This is not something to take a chance on burning your home down.

    Wish I could return this. It doesn’t perform any better than the simple one I have by T-Fal. In fact, I think I like the T-Fal better since it moves the food around for even heating. There are many other functions that it might do well, but those are not great for me since I feed an army daily! I really wanted it for healthier fried potatoes and other veggies.

    There are 2 in our household so the XL size means I’m done after cooking 1 batch of most things. I was getting tired of cleaning the entire stove after frying a few pieces of bacon or something. Yes, I could use the microwave to cook bacon but I don’t like how nuked bacon taste. I enjoy bacon in this fryer though. I bought a separate air fryer cookbook because the Philips web site cookbook is sort of sketchy. Now I’ve figured out the process and can cook most items w/o a cookbook. The biggest change is the seasoning has to adhere tightly to (cling to) food. Otherwise the air will just blow your seasonings off when you cook.

    Digital display is a major problem! While you cook, the display would go haywire by itself. Adding and subtracting temperature and time… some time it turn off while cooking like someone hit the power off…then turn itself back on and may even start cooking all over again…

    Received the item on 17th. It was bubble wrapped and once the bubble wrap was removed there was already a small green sticker which says body damaged. I opened further to see the product and the plastic body were not sitting properly on each other . When I removed the tray out the top healing coil fell down . Really sad that they shipped the item after having a sticker on it which says body damaged . I have just started a refund option now . Please go through the pictures to understand what’s written

    I did a ton of research before purchasing an air fryer and glad I decided on this one. It does great wings, potatoes and cauliflower wings, so far! I like that it’s big enough to make a good amount all at once, everything is crispy and golden brown all the way through – not just the top or bottom layers of food. Also it’s really easy to work and clean. Would recommend.

    It was not a clean product it was all dirty..finger prints were there..and the handle was very creaking and delicate handle…bad..felt disappointed and not satisfied..!!:(
