A selection of 14 auto cook options enable you to quickly prepare your favorite foods, such as pizza, popcorn, pasta, soup, oatmeal and other dishes.

This Panasonic microwave oven externally measures 14-inch x 23-7/8-inch x 19-7/16-inch (H x W x D).

UPDATE: I have dropped my rating to one star, and vow to never, ever buy another microwave from Panasonic. After six weeks, I finally have it repaired. Panasonic’s customer service is terrible, and gave me one heck of a run around. No customer should have to go through what I did to get mine fixed. Had I known of the hassle beforehand, I would have just thrown the microwave in the dump. I was told at least 3 times that the case would be “escalated” before anything ever happened. Then I was told that once received, it would be repaired in 24-48 hours. It was closer to two weeks. When I opened the box today, I found dirty finger prints and some sort of adhesive on the microwave. They could have had the common courtesy to wipe it down and make it look presentable. I am done with Panasonic. I was forced to use a competitor’s brand while mine was in for service. That has been one heck of a microwave, and you can bet I will be looking at that company for my next purchase. The used loaner has already outlasted the Panasonic, and I bet they have better customer service. I see lots of 5 stars by other reviewers. Maybe I got a lemon, but maybe theirs just hasn’t broke yet. When it does break, good luck. My advice is do not buy this microwave!!!!!I owned this microwave for six weeks and it no longer works. I have a H97 error. Since it is still under warranty, I contacted Panasonic who instructed that we take it to the nearest Service Repair Center. Drove an hour to get there, only to find out that it can’t be fixed. Was told to call Panasonic back and tell them to ship me a new microwave. I did just that and was told my case will be escalated. 72 hours later, I called back to find out nothing has been done. Really? Was told that a Field Rep has to make the decision on whether or not replace the microwave and case will be given to him for review. CS suggested that I call the Service Repair Center and ask the repairman to call the Panasonic Field Rep. I should not have to do that, and won’t. Panasonic needs to get their act together fast before I finish this review. It sits at 3 stars right now, and I will change it to either 1 star or 4 stars depending on Panasonics response time and decision. I am the customer, and I am the one without a microwave at the moment. Let’s see how Panasonic treats its customers.

2018-06-13-122924In 1987 I purchased my 1st microwave for $350. It was a KENMORE 7218783580 MICROWAVE and it performed flawlessly from 1987 to last week with no issues. No burned out bulbs or anything . . . until last week. A plastic part in the door gave out and made the locking mechanism stop working. The part required to repair the lock is not available and patching up the existing lock did not seem prudent so the hunt for a new microwave was on.After looking at MICROWAVES and REVIEWS on AMAZON.COM (and other sites) I decided upon the PANASONIC NN-SN966S as the replacement for my tried and true KENMORE. I ordered the PANASONIC MICROWAVE, it arrived on TUE-05-JUN, and was put into service TUE PM.PROS:** This is a very nice looking unit** It fits well in the space allocated for a microwave in my kitchen** It cooks food well.CONS:** I dislike having to press a button on the microwave to unlock the door and then open the door as two separate actions.** The stainless steel portions of the face (including the door button and the door handle) show finger and palm prints easily.** The keypad is not a touch pad or a set of mechanical switches, it is a pad of buttons that seem similar to the ones used on some cell phones where there are contacts are under layers of plastic and pressing the contacts together activates the switch. My luck with switches like this has not been good in the past.** Accessing the POWER LEVEL FUNCTION was very inefficient. On my old microwave if you wanted to cook something for 2 minutes at 1/2 power you pressed TIME + 2 + 0 + 0 + POWER + 5 + START.On this new PANASONIC microwave if you want to do the same thing you have to press POWER (100%) + POWER (90%) + POWER (80%) + POWER (70%) + POWER (60%) + POWER (50%) + TIME + 2 + 0 + 0 + STARTOld = 7 buttons vs New = 11 buttons. Old wins. If you want power 2, Old = 7 buttons, New = 12 buttons. This seemed to mean the POWER BUTTON was going to get a lot of use and would probably have issues before the less used buttons on the control panel.** Steam / Condensation appeared inside the door and the inside the time display (please see attached photos, red outlined areas = condensation behind plastic panel)** The interior light was a small LED that did not do an adequate job of illuminating the inside so the cooking process could be monitored through the door (and/or the door tint was to dark).** There are no handles or hand holes on the cabinet to use when lifting this unit.** There seems to be no way to disable the TURNTABLE so if an item cannot rotate freely within the oven, it will hit the walls or slide around on the turntable. This must be the difference between the volume of the interior (2.2 cu ft) and the usable space (1.4 cu ft).SUMMARY:The PANASONIC NN-SN966S is a very nice microwave but (after a bit more checking) I have replaced it with a Kenmore Elite 79399 2.2 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven w/ Inverter – Black (last picture below). The KENMORE is not as highly rated as the PANASONIC and it is a bit more expensive but I believe that it suits my needs better. I will be doing a review on the KENMORE 79399 shortly.

After going through three different microwaves including those with a “top-pick” rating from the NY Times “Wirecutter”, plus Consumer Reports’ advice – the Panasonic 2.2 cu.ft 1250W unit is solidly the best, especially the Inverter technology: being able to dial in – real – power percentages (as opposed to all others that “fake” percentages and actually use “full-on” “full-off” as a means of controlled temperature output; there is a significant difference! Likewise the Panasonic has logical and finger-friendly buttons easily pushed. Especially better is the “soft-touch” door opening… others have been stiff or very difficult to open, likewise close.2.2 cubic ft size (large) is so much more functional over 1.6 size units…. interior space. Visibility and lighting inside the Panasonic, plus white interior – is excellent, well designed. Also pleasing is the very low noise level. A two-thumbs-up product.
