I’m not sure if KitchenAid’s quality has gone downhill over the years, but just purchased this twice, with both units arriving with defects and having to be returned. The first came with a very visible gauge in the head (shipping box was fine); the second came with a wobbly, unstable head. KitchenAid’s instructions online to troubleshoot the unstable head seem to apply to an earlier or later version of the mixer – they refer to a flat screw in the shaft to tighten, but this model does not have a screw following that description, just something that looks like it requires a special key or part. Super frustrating.

Excellent product, but lamentable quality bowl (said Polished Stainless Steel with Comfortable Handle), and whip accessory. After 3 weeks the bowl turned up with spots of rust (see one spot on the photo) and the whip turned up into black powder after washing.I just need to replace these 2 accessories but not really planned in Amazon : you need to return the complete shipment which is a burden due of the weight of the box !6 month later a new and serious product occurs. There was a crack in the metal which made the head to jump up and down while spining the flour in the bowl. The quantities never exceeded 6oogr. See the photos.

I have a lifelong (almost 60 years) history of being utterly incapable of baking the most simple of things. I have no problem with cooking – having spent many years in F&B and even had my own catering venture for a few years. But baking…is a science and a mystery that I’ve never solved. Muffins that could easily be used as hockey pucks…angel food cake that could be bench-pressed to bulk up…”just add water” brownies that remained chocolate soup, even after being in the oven for hours. Consistent disaster after disaster…decade after decadeSeveral friends purchased Kitchen Aid mixers and sung their praises, but I steadfastly avoided all discussion of getting one myself. Then, recently, I got caught up binge-watching several seasons of the Great British Baking Show – and after witnessing hour after hour after hour, of those shiny wonder-widgets cranking out wondrous concoctions of mere bits of sugar, butter, flour and eggs…I decided I HAD to have one! And now that it has arrived and I’ve had a chance to play for a few weeks, I am enthralled with it! It is a BEAST of a professional grade machine that takes all the hard work out of blending, mixing, creaming, whipping, kneading… and a breeze to clean up, once all the whirring and blurring is done! It’s a home version of a Hobart and I couldn’t love it more! I find myself actively seeking out new and fun things to try, and look forward to each weekend to see if I can actually achieve a reasonable facsimileYou can take the girl out of the restaurant industry, but you can’t take the restaurant industry out of the girl – everything in my kitchen is commercial quality, and always stainless steel, white or clear glass – and my Kitchenaid is no exception. Went with Contour Silver as my color choice and it’s absolutely perfect! Also love the ability to expand capabilities with additional accessories. I’ve already added a clear glass bowl with pourer and measurement markings – and the flex edge beater with the scraper. I’m thinking the grinder attachment might be next.I know I’m a recent and late newcomer to the stand mixer party – but I am an enthusiastic and dedicated devotee. And now I”m off to make something scrummyOn your marks…get set…BAKE!!!

I love my mixer. But I am wondering. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a spring that helps hold the mixer paddle in place. My mixer doesn’t have that spring. When I mix the machine makes a loud noise and the mixer paddle doesn’t stay in place. Slips and shakes. Don’t know how to contact company.

Great tool, BUT if you buy it, it should have a spring attached to the post where the attachments hook on to. If it is not there, it is faulty and the attachments remain loose; I imagine that all of the complaints about clicking noises that you will see in the low-starred reviews come from those people who got a model without the spring. I would give this 5 stars if it had the spring; I owned a KA stand mixer for 20 years and loved it. Mine arrived yesterday with no spring, so I am forced to return it. An advertisement inside the box showing accessories etc. had a picture of the mixer and the spring is clearly evident in the picture. Not sure why some mixers do not have it.I will buy another one once I can confirm it has a spring.Edit: Called Kitchen Aid today to ask about the spring on the post and they said they “determined it was not necessary.” I’m not sure why or how they came to that conclusion.

I had basically the same model KitchenAid mixer for 50 years. It was wonderful. It started making ‘motor problem’ noise so I figured it was time for a new one. I bought this one as a treat and to be sure I had a mixer to bake for the holidays. The first time I used it, the beater wasn’t at the right level (too high) – no problem, I lowered it according to instructions. But when I went to release the bowl, it wouldn’t release easily and I had to call my husband to help so I could put the batter into the pans. I wasn’t happy but figured it was a ‘break in’ period. Today, the bowl not only wouldn’t release EASILY, neither I nor my husband could get it to release, so I had to work around the head to get the batter into the baking pan. Afterwards, when we still couldn’t get the empty bowl free, we took a rubber mallet and tried banging the handle of the bowl, which immediately came off – a TERRIBLE weld job – and only were able to get the bowl off by banging DOWN on the bowl and putting graphite in the base. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY OLD MIXER – FOR 50 YEARS. This one sucks. Kitchen Aid – be ashamed – be very ashamed.

Funciona excelente y ahorra mucho tiempo. No ocupa mucho espacio.
