Awesome grill no other words

This was a great grill for three years. Most of the parts are still in great shape. Unfortunately we have to replace it because the metal that holds up the flame tamers has degraded and can no longer hold them. Of course this is pretty much the only part that can’t be replaced.

The grill works well. Great sized grill when cooking for a small sized party. If you are cooking for a large party, get something a bit larger. Quality construction, takes a couple of hours to assemble. The grease-catch tray design is seriously flawed. The grease drips onto your deck or patio and stains it. The included cover is the worst part of this grill. I’ve owned the grill for 18 months. The grill cover faded and began leaving a white powdery dust on my hands after touching it after maybe one year. The cover is now ripped in several places, exposing my grill to the elements. The grill sits on a townhouse second level deck. It hasn’t been impacted by anything, yet the cover is torn to shreds.

cooks uneven, front plate under handle gets so hot you burn yourself if you touch it while raising lid. Grease drips down from sides and makes your deck look like crap (bad design). I hate this grill and even though I paid a lot I’m going to be getting rid of it.

My wife purchased this grill for me on Father’s Day this year. (Model 720-0891C). I have to say I was pretty happy with it right up until I tried to cook a steak on it. This unit seems to have no capacity to sear meat at all. With all burners at maximum, it magically transformed my beautiful 1 1/2″ thick New York Strip into a grey mass of disgusting-looking well-done door stop without EVER putting any grill marks on the bottom side. Subsequent attempts have rendered the same results with poultry and seafood as well. This is obviously a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. A properly cooked steak should be seared on the outside and the correct temp in the center. OK, I know what you’re thinking. This guy doesn’t know what he’s doing and he just wants to blame someone for his failure. Did I mention I was a PROFESSIONAL CHEF? By the way – I’m a professional chef. I know how to cook a steak. The problem is the burners on this grill are positioned so far from the food that it is essentially an oven. I emailed the Mfg to see if there’s a modification available, but if there isn’t I’ll be returning it.

This grill does not GRILL the meat–it bakes the meat. The flame does not reach the meat, consequently it doesn’t sear which is necessary for grilling. I removed a london broil after 15 minutes on high on one side and it was gray. Had to pan cook it. The only good thing about this grill is that it is pretty!!!
