I have owned 2 different KitchenAid coffee makers in the past, so I felt confident in the purchase of this one. Disappointed is the only way I can fairly describe my experience. It takes 20 minutes to brew a pot of 10 cups, instead of the 10 my old pot took for the same task. The caraf pours well when you pour fast, but leaks everywhere when you don’t pour at the right speed. After you pour a cup, the caraf leaks coffee onto the burner and glues itself to the hot pad. Yes, I give it credit for making a great cup of coffee, but a failure in all other departments including the lack of a filter in the water tank. C’mon KitchenAid, I expected better from you!!!

I have had Kitchen Aid Appliances including coffee makers for years, so thought ordering this new one and in a new model would be ok. Never worked, we trouble shooted all the tips. It would not turn on at all, to even let us set the time. Tested in 8 different outlets, which all our other appliances work in. It is VERY difficult to repack these items for return, will not buy again.

Great coffee pot. I haven’t even bothered to set the time on it, and probably never will.Some of these reviews are wrong, BTW. You can *ABSOLUTELY* hit the brew button and turn the warmer plate back on after it finishes its first cycle and shuts off. No voodoo required. I almost didn’t buy this one on account of the reviews and customer questions saying it didn’t work; no idea what they were smoking because it works just fine.So, my advice:1) Don’t smoke what the other reviewers are smoking.2) Get this.P.S. It takes #4. KitchenAid, in all their wisdom, can’t manage to declare this anywhere in the manual, their website, or their product description. Yes, yes; it comes with a “gold mesh” filter thing but I like not having kidney stones and never use those.

This seems to be an outstanding coffeemaker with one major deficiency. If the coffeemaker turns off at the end of it’s timed cycle or is turned off (or briefly unplugged to move it) it cannot be turned back on. The only way to turn it back on is to refill the reservoir with water and start over. We occasionally want to heat up a partially filled carafe of coffee or turn is back on after briefly leaving the house and such is not possible.

Coffee tastes great, the timer and clock are the easiest I’ve ever used. Love the removable reservoir. It has useful coffee and water indexes marked on it. Coffee is hot and brews in the normal amount of time. The carafe pours beautifully without any drips. This is by far my favorite coffee maker I’ve used. It is really easy to use, I don’t feel like there’s much effort required. It’s been two weeks and I am still excited to fill my commute mug in the morning.
