Upon opening the box, I got a pleasant surprise– taped to the top of my test machine was two boxes of pods and a bag of ground coffee. I didn’t realize that it would come with coffee to start me off. Looking inside the box, this is a nice tight compact machine, it looks like it’ll fit into the space I’ve got on the counter- very much the same height as my old Keurig K-40 single-shot machine, just a little wider. Putting the machine together and washing the pieces, I was a little disappointed that a higher-end machine like this did not include a reusable filter basket. I’ll have to buy some paper filters at the grocery store before I can brew a pot using grounds. Following the instructions in the included booklet, I set the clock, rinsed out the water reservoir and the pot and started the procedure to do a cleansing rinse of the pot. The instruction book mentions that it may take 4 minutes to heat up the first time to run the pot of hot water, so I set it up and walked away from it to do other things. I checked back about an hour later and the white light was still blinking but there was no water had brewed. I unplugged the machine and reset the clock and started it again to try and brew a pot of just water. It is brewing water this time, but there seemed to be some kind of a strange delay. Perhaps there was an air bubble in a water line somewhere? The water volume in this first test using the eight-cup setting and brewed almost 9 cups of water? Is that because I had to restart it? I’m going to run another test brew through it and see what happens. The test brew number 4 on the pod side seemed to work just fine. The second test pot still ran almost 9 cups. Perhaps they’re accounting for the amount of water the coffee grounds will absorb?Having got everything set up, it’s a cinch to press the on button and have it heat up the water to make a quick pod for a cup of coffee in just moments. After my next trip to the grocery store to buy paper filters, I set up a pot of coffee to brew. Took about 7 minutes to brew an 8-cup batch of coffee, and the water levels on the pot seem to be correct, so it looks like they were accounting for the water that stays in the coffee grounds. When using the single-serve pod side of the coffee maker, I like that there is multiple setting for how many ounces you want in your cup, plus a ‘strong’ button if you’re in a mood for an extra-strong cup. When making a cup with the pods, when you power on the machine it heats up quickly, and you’re brewing your hot cup of coffee in less than a minute. After using this for a couple of weeks, I must say that I do indeed like it and recommend it to anyone that needs a double-duty machine for pods or a full pot.

I love Keurig coffee and the single serve is as good as ever. The carafe is extremely disappointing. It is virtually impossible to pour from the pot without coffee running all over the counter. It seems that this is one of the more basic design issues and it is inexcusable. Additionally, it seems hard to maintain a consistent quality of coffee from pot to pot. The $80 pot that I replaced did a much better job!

This coffee maker does a great job of making beverages. It also does a great job of dribbling coffee on my counter and floor from the supplied glass carafe. Seems like a company with such a good reputation would be able to design a coffee maker that would be neater to use. We primarily use the glass carafe for everyday use and the single brewer for evening pleasures. I guess they put all their research into single serving brewers and have not worked so hard on the normal coffee maker part. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t buy this model.

The Best of both worlds. This really is the best of both worlds when it comes to coffee. It offers the convince of K-Cups, when you need a cup of good coffee and you don’t have time to wait. In my case it’s in the morings getting ready for the commute to work. The beauty of this Kureg, is that you can also make a full pot of coffee to enjoy on a relaxed morning or when you have company over. The large water tank assures that you are not constantly having to refill it every few cups. Another feature I really like is that it will work both with K-Cups and disposable K-Cup containers so you can make singles with your favorite coffee brand. It comes with settings so you can choose the size cup you want, 12, 10 or 8 Ounce. There are only a couple of minor things that I found to be a bit frustrating, the power cord to the coffee maker is rather short and in my case to place it where I wanted it as necessary to add n extension cord, and the filter tray for a full pot of coffee can be a little bit difficult to put in until you get used to it. All in all I really love this product!

Love it. My husband likes to use the jar while I like the pods.
You can get the most out of these duo. Water container hold enough and works for K cups so pretty easy to buy the coffee pods. The only difference is that you will have to buy coffee pods and paper filters.
Size wise you can place a 6OZ cup or remove the base and place a large cup.
Really useful for large families

Love it!! What can I say? This thing is awesome. If you want a whole pot of coffee, you can make it. If you just want one cup, you can make that too. It has a large water reservoir on the back that both sides use so you don’t have to fill it up every time. Get one!! You’ll love it!!

Excellent Quality and Delicious Coffee! I just LOVE my new Keurig K-Duo Essentials Coffee Maker, it makes such fabulous coffee! With this coffeemaker, I can enjoy coffee two different ways. I can brew up a whole 12 cup carafe of delicious coffee, or just brew a cup at a time, my choice.
This is such a high quality machine. I was so surprised how quickly it brews up a delicious pot of coffee. It brews a full pot in about 6 minutes, perfect.
To me, nothing is better in the morning to get the cobwebs out of my head than a good cup of hot coffee. With this machine, if I’m in a hurry to get out the door, I can also make a quick cup with K-Cup pod. I just insert a pod and some water, and in no time I have a cup of delicious coffee.
The instructions are so easy to understand too. Everything is marked so you don’t forget with easy to read symbols. On the top, you choose if you want a pod or carafe. If you choose carafe, then you may choose how many cups you would like to brew. Your selections light up so you know what you’ve chosen.
The carafe is one of the best I have ever used. I love that when I’m pouring a cup a coffee, that it doesn’t leak out the top, or the top doesn’t open up when pouring. It is the perfect carafe. Even with my arthritis, the handle is easy to hold onto.
What I really just love, love about my Keurig is they give you so many delicious choices of flavors of coffee, it’s so nice having choices. If I want to try a new flavor, I just slip in a pod, it’s that easy.
A big plus for the single serve is my hubby and I can each drink our own favorite flavor, without making up a whole pot of one or the other. Another feature I appreciate is the container that holds the water. It sits in the back of the machine, you just fill to appropriate line and set it in the back. You don’t have to pour into the machine which is a really nice feature, no spills.
I just love my new Keurig coffee pot and I am enjoying trying out all the different flavors of coffee. This machine is built with quality in mind, and I know it will last this family for years!

Double the options, but why? Review of the Keurig K-Duo Essentials Coffee Maker, with Single Serve K-Cup Pod and 12 Cup Carafe Brewer. At first I thought this was a great idea and then I thought why would you need both. But, with my family some can drink coffee and some can have hot chocolate at the same time. Now during the winter time we like to make a thermal cup of Hot Chocolate for while we are working outside. And, when we had friends over some wanted regular coffee and some wanted decaffeinated coffee, so we were able to use the K-Cup for the decaffeinated coffee drinkers and the carafe for the regular or the other way around if it’s late and we have more who wanted decaffeinated. The K-Cup allows you to vary the different types of coffee depending on your guest. So, after putting it to use in a setting with a group of coffee drinkers I guess the Keurig K-Duo Essentials Coffee Maker, with Single Serve K-Cup Pod and 12 Cup Carafe Brewer, it can be a useful kitchen accessory. But with day to day use in the family with limited coffee drinkers I guess it will not get much duo use. I would recommend it you have a family that has varying taste in coffee and like the option to have a pot ready all day without have to do the single cup K-Cup option. Also, need to have more counter space.

Keurig K-Duo Coffee Maker. I received the Keurig K-Duo Essentials Coffee Maker, with Single Serve K-Cup Pod and 12 Cup Carafe
brewer from Spark Reviewer and I love It.
This coffee maker can make a single cup of coffee using a K-Cup pod or it can make a Carafe of coffee using Ground Coffee.
It has an add water light that turns blue when water is needed.
It can brew an 8 oz, 10oz, or 12 oz carafe of coffee when needed or a single cup for just you.
the coffee maker heating plate will shut off 2 hours after the last brew.
The water reservoir and lid, the carafe and lid ,the filter basket drawer and basket are so easy to clean. I just use soapy water and rinse. The black color keeps it looking clean.
The size of the Keurig K-Duo Coffee Maker doesn’t take up much space on my coffee counter.
I would recommend this Keurig K-Duo Coffee Maker to family and friends.

Best of Both worlds. I am a long time coffee drinker and Keurig user so this is an item I really wanted to try.I will start with the positive attributes to this Version. I love that it gives me the option to brew a single cup or a whole pot for when we have company over. The machine is a great looking unit and fits neatly under our coffee station shelf. It brews a strong cup of coffee in no time. I found the last two keurigs we had would brew quickly but the coffee would be watered down. It also has a smart start button so you don’t have to wait for it to heat up, then put your cup in and push start! You just put your cup in push start and it will automatically start brewing once it’s ready, this has to be my favorite feature. Now for the drawbacks. You only have the option to brew an 8,10 or 12 cup pot I really would like the option to brew 4 or 6 as well. We always end up with a little bit of wasted coffee because of this feature. The water reservoir is big and placed on the back which makes it very cumbersome to remove, fill and replace. It would have also been nice to have a picture or a sticker on the machine demonstrating how to insert the brew basket . I struggled with it for 30 mins before I realized you have to line it up with the tab. Over all we are enjoying this Keurig and would recommend it to anyone needs both options in their coffee machine.

A dream come true for any coffee lover. This Keurig-duo coffee maker is incrediable. This set comes complete with pods plus ground coffee to suit any coffee lover. If you just want a single cup, just pop in a pod of your choice, fill the water reservoir with water. You will then push the number of ounce’s you desire weather it be 8 oz, 10 oz. Or 12 oz. Which ever one you choose, a light will indicate until the coffee is brewed. For a single cup it will only take a minute! Lift the handle and remove the pod. The machine is now ready for another cup. If your brewing a larger quanity, add a paper filter to the basket first, then add the ground coffee of your choice and push the button. It could not be simplier. If your a coffee drinker like I am, this is the machine for you!! My only negative is, the machine is on the large side and I had to rearrange my counter to make room for it. My blender has a new home elsewhere!! There is nothing better than fresh brewed coffee in my mind!!

Excellent coffee/ tea maker. I got this product to review a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE IT!! This is a very convenient and versatile product. It allows you to use individual K cups and also to brew a carafe if need be.
The water tank is at the rear of the coffee maker. It’s is easy to remove and refill. The only problem I have with the water tank unit is the lid does not secure tightly on the plastic tank. But that aside, you can brew a 8,10 or 12 ounce cup. There is small button that tells you when to refill the water. It does not start a brew unless there is enough water in the tank. We have tried some teas too. The process is the same.
I love the large carafe. It has a wide mouth and can be easily cleaned.
This Duo coffee maker is a wonderful thing…. my teenage daughter and her friends have reduced visiting coffee houses to hang out.

Best Keurig. This Kuerig combines the best of both ways to brew coffee. It allows you to use a single serve K-Cup pod or it allows you to brew 12 cups of coffee in a carafe. The single serve is great when you only need a quick cup of coffee. The carafe makes it so you can brew coffee for the whole family. The water is very hot when it comes out which is perfect for brewing coffee.
