The BMX 52 QT Cooler from Igloo was designed with rugged construction and sturdy features. This ice chest was made with blow-molded construction for outdoor adventures.

The extra-thick foam walls and insulated lid can keep ice from melting for up to 4–5 days at 90ºF.

The unique, rubberized t-latches lock in the cold while securing the lid. Stainless steel reinforcements and rubber grips provide premium touch points on the ergonomic swing-up handles.

Oversized hinges and stainless steel screws help to extend the life of this cooler. We used our Cool Riser Technology to elevate the cooler away from hot surfaces, improving cooling performance.

Plus, the UV inhibitors protect the cooler against the sun. Skid pads and diamond plates add enhanced durability and ruggedness to the cooler. Also, a fish ruler and tie-down points were added for extra convenience.

The stainless-steel, tethered cap is threaded, making it compatible with garden hoses.

This cooler weighs only 16.34 lbs, which is about half the weight of other brands at a lower price. Measuring 26.20” L x 16.42” W x 16.06” H, the BMX Cooler from Igloo is perfect for any tailgate party, camping adventure, or fishing getaway.

My wife and I took this cooler camping Saturday night. I put two bags of 5 lbs ice in it and then put in the beer. We opened multiple times to get out either a beer or ice for a drink. Came home Sunday afternoon and took the beer out and put in a refrigerator. I didn’t lock down the lid. it is now Tuesday night. Checked tonight and there is still ice in the cooler. I am very satisfied with how this cooler performed.

4 straight days of ice in the cooler while camping. It could have gone at least another 2 days. Yes, this was regular use, we kept all our food and drinks in this cooler, opened the lid 25+ times a day. We used 2 froze 1 gallon gatorade bottles, no loose ice and both bottles had 40%+ of solid ice left. Camping at Great Sand Dunes in 85+ degree heat. this cooler is SOLID and sturdy, a definite upgrade from the standard coolers and it holds the cold as well as the highly over valued Yeti coolers, fyi, look on Youtube for the Yeti coolers getting cut in half along with a cheap Coleman = same exact insulation, the only difference is the inner walls of the Yeti run about 1/8 of an inch thick and the Coleman about 1/16th, that’s it.

Update: 5/12/2018 I have just noticed a flaw in the design of the handle that can easily be addressed. The only reason I noticed is that my handle steel bar was sliding out. It appears there are two plugs on either end holding the steel bar in. They were not secured properly during factory release and they did not hold tight. Even when you push them all the way into the groove they do not stick into the bar in such a way as to hold still forever. They almost need to be super glued or replaced with some sort of plug from home depot. Unfortunately I noticed too late and I now am missing a black plug as seen in my new pictures. I doubt this can be replaced from the manufacturer. I am reducing my review to 4 stars because now I have to go find something to fit it. I must stress that the handle is very strong, it is just a flaw that may allow your handle to fall off but you can fix it as it isn’t broken plastic. **SEE PICS**I ordered the 52 for 89 dollars and I loaded it with 50 pounds of ice and drinks. Day 3 still has ice. I’d say maybe 4 days it can hold regular cubed ice from the convenience store. A block would last longer. This comes with a strap inside to stop opening too far and super sturdy metal handles. 52 is huge for one person I’d say with ice you could have 32 bottles in there or more. It has a drain. The thing looks super sweet and beefy at 1 third the cost of a yeti and half some off brands I considered. It closes well and I think it will last a lifetime for me. I weigh 200 and it supports my weight easily.

I love this cooler! I wanted the yeti at first, and then checked out other high valued coolers and eventually found this igloo one at a steal of a price. Ice lasted 5 days!!! Could go longer! Of course it melted somewhat but after drawing the water I was left with a good amount of ice leftover after 5 days! Super happy with this cooler, and I highly recommend it!!! Save some money and buy this cooler, you won’t regret it!!

I like the way it looks and feels (feels solid and durable), and it worked well on a 4-day/3-night trip to the Lodgepole area, but the caps on the ends of the handles came off (lost) which allows the metal bar that holds the handle together to fall out. Now I have to find out how to order new end caps.

I put a 30 pack of water bottles in this which was about 70°F and a 20lb bag of ice. The cooler stayed in the bed of my black truck on a black rubber mat in the heat of Texas and Oklahoma. 5 days later there were 6 bottles of water in it and still ice floating around. I’m happy with it. It is a great cooler and I’ve got zero bad things to say about it so far

So many igloo coolers made in America, yet it is ironic that the expensive one is made in China…

Husband purchased this to put on his work truck for water and other drinks. Has raved about this repeatedly. Ice was still in it after 3 days, water still ice cold days after that, while sitting in 90+ degree, direct sunlight. He’s very happy when this purchase.

Used the cooler this past weekend for the first time and it performed excellently. Put some ice in the night before use to bring to temperature. Then replaced with 4 small bags of ice on day I began using. It was a very hot and humid 4 days with the cooler stored in the boot of my hit car. I drained excess water every evening. At the end of day 4th day the cooler was at fridge temperature still (I left a little fridge thermometer in there) and had a good amount of ice left in it. Very pleased with its performance.

Looked at several online reviews that suggested it is the best non-rotomoulded cooler and a current camping trip proved it, with excellent ice retention even when not used optimally (used cubes instead of blocks and nowhere near full). Don’t need to blow your paycheque on a Yeti!

Always wanted a fancy cooler, but couldn’t justify the price for the premium brands for my use. For boating and camping on the west coast of bc this thing is awesome. All the typical items that fail on coolers have been fortified, and I’ve used it camping several times and my ice is frozen longer than most others in the camp… So maybe don’t show others what cooler you’ve got!

I ordered the cooler on a Friday because I needed it for the following weekend. The delivery options (I’m a Prime member) said it was guaranteed to be delivered by Tuesday. I got an email on Tuesday saying it hadn’t shipped yet. Luckily it showed up Friday afternoon as I was packing my truck to leave. Pay attention to where it ships from if it’s time sensitive. As for the cooler, it performed as advertised. Very rugged and kept ice all weekend. It should be noted that I loaded it up with my warm drinks (right off the truck) and a couple bags of ice. I still had ice when I got home Sunday. Some other reviews mentioned an issue with the black stopper on the handle. Mine was missing one when it got here so I put a little gorilla glue on the 3 remaining plugs and it wasn’t an issue for the rest of the weekend. All in all, an excellent cooler for a decent price.

We ordered this cooler specifically for the size and ice retention. However, after 2 full days, the ice melted and we had to restock it. Two days later the ice blocks were almost all melted.Unfortunately, we camp 5 days+ at a time and this is not going to be useful for our family. We are going to have to return this item as it did not deliver what it promised.

Great sturdy cooler. Lots of good features like tie for drain plug so you don’t loose it and the ability to tie it onto something for saying put while in transport weather it’s in your boat or on the back of a quad. My only complaint was the small black plastic bolts come out on the handles and I had to glue them in so won’t get lost
