First, Thanks DeWalt for listening to what craftsman wanted and then making it happen!I’m new to DeWalt products. My cordless power tools have historically been Ryobi based on affordability and wide array of 18Volt gizmos. However, as a craftsman with increasing needs in portability, reliability, power options and functionality, I’ve had to expand my tools outside the lime green brand and started investing in DeWalt products. To keep this brief, I won’t get into all the portable radios I’ve tried and field tested, but here have been plenty. IMO, a high quality job site radio isn’t just lots of bass or high volume, it needs to be job site tough (dust and water protection), be solidly built, well designed, offer features/flexibility, and of course, have clear quality sound – highs, mid and bass. This DeWalt radio does it all. I rarely give 5 STARS on any product unless it meets my criteria of trouble free operation, quality, durability and value. This one is a winner in my opinion, and though it’s a bit pricey compared to other brands/models, it’s worth every copper penny of my investment.

Im a plasterer who walks on stilts all day doing ceilings and this radio was such a waste of my money because i wont stsy connected and im on stilts so i cant keep getting on and off to connect it.. To keep it short and sweet this radio is fantastic, the sound is wonderful, the bass and the treble is great. Overall its a good radio but it wont stay connected for more than 5 minutes and it has to be turned off and back on before it will reconnect.. Its a shame. I love dewalt stuff and im basically a collector of 20v stuff.. I have the toughsystem which is fantastic so you’d imagine the next generation would be better because i assumed it would evolve.. The app is joke and the radio cant stay connected long enough to get through 1 song.. I bought a $20 speaker at Family Dollar that i prefer to this because its sound may not blow you away but its decent and it stays connected..Dont buy this stupid thing.. Its like having the hottest car in town but it breaks down every 50 feet…

I didn’t get paid to write this I’m just a guy. Did my research and everyone said this was the bees knees and hey they were right. 18/10 better than a job site radio. I’ll for sure slap this puppy on the front of my quad and also bring it to work. The thing blasts and the base it sweet. Better than a Bose or whatever old people put in the living room. Plus it charges batteries super quick in my experience. I rewally really like it and I’m happy I waited for this version to come out. Only grip is I wish the block on the power cord was inside the radio but hey if that’s the only thing wrong with it then whatever still worth it can’t beat the sound. All in all cheaper than a miluakee and sounds way better.

I went back and forth between this and the ToughSystem radio (Which my neighbor has; We both have Dewalt lines of tools) and the Craftsman radio you can pick up at Lowes (If you have the new Craftsman battery line in your toolbox, which I almost did).1) Quality is comparable to the ToughSystem and for normal listening, audio is comparable as well. Bonus with this is that you can use the Flexvolt battery line in this radio but not in the ToughSystem radio.2) The ToughSystem totes are arguably a better product for contractors than the Tstak systems, but I am a home owner and not a contractor so Tstak works just fine.3) Being owned/made by the same corporation (Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.), the radio does latch to the Stanley and Craftsman Tstak lines as well as Dewalt’s Tstak line. I currently have the Craftsman storage system because Lowes had a sale on them.4) I did buy this on Amazon because the main stores I find don’t typically have this in stock…with that in mind, shop around because I did find it $40 cheaper in town, after I was using it, at a local tool store and not the big box chains. Lesson learned there.- If you have Dewalt batteries and are happy with the Tstak system, this is a good radio.- If you have Dewalt batteries but the ToughSystem storage, go with the ToughSystem radio.- If you have Dewalt batteries but none of the storage systems, I’d probably go with the Tstak as it is the newer product so development funds will likely go towards it….unless you want the ToughSystem Storage.- If you are a home owner, and not a contractor, shopping around and deciding on what line to go with, I’d probably go with the Craftsman line, their Tstak radio is the same as this, just uses different batteries that are cheaper than Dewalt but made by the same company.- If you don’t care about batteries or storage and just want the best jobsite radio on the market – go with the Bosch Power Box.

Radio sounds awesome but doesn’t come with battery and the battery is 89 bucks! Only runs for 2 hrs on low volume.. technically you need 3 battery for 8 hr. Day…. So if you don’t have access to charging station go with JBL or Bose!

I love everything about this radio for work. And it seems to run forever off my 6.0 ah batteries. The fact that it runs/charges my flex volts is a huge positive too.ConsCompatable with TStak but not tough systemO.K. user interface, it is “pretty” but having to press multiple buttons to tune radio is stupid instead of a tune knobStorage tray area to small especially since it has a big ass box on the power supply.Pro’sStores easyNot to largeGood sound qualityCharges 12, 20, and 60v dewalt batteries, and usb portBuilt in Bluetooth and am/fm radioApp control (haven’t messed with to much but it’s a nice feature)

Purchased as a gift to our son who does a lot of welding work. We actually played with it before we gave it to him and wow, the sound is just awesome! Bonus is the additional features including Bluetooth & USB port. Another great product from Dewalt!
