This is the latest version of Bushnell’s hybrid gps and laser golf rangefinder. It is lighter than the previous, but has two improvements over the prior version: it incorporates the gps information onto the internal laser screen so that you see both the actual pin distance and front/back of green distances, the second improvement is adding their ‘jolt’ technology to the model. The unit works well, is easy to use and quickly acquires the pin when using the laser.I have only used it now for several games, so I might change my rating with more use. Two things that I don’t like on this version include the gps battery life and the rubber eye-piece. If you put the unit in its case with the eye-piece up you run the risk of it coming off as you pull the unit back out of the case. Minor, but an inconvenience. More concerning is that fact that Bushnell went with a two battery system on this unit vs the prior single rechargeable battery. In this new unit, you have a built-in rechargeable battery that powers the gps, and a replaceable CR2 battery that powers the laser. In the prior unit where both were powered by the built-in rechargeable battery, it would easily last 3 or more games before requiring a recharge. And even if the charge dropped to the point where the gps would no longer function, you could still use the laser to finish out the round. In the new version, the built-in rechargeable battery is supposed to last 3 rounds but so far hardly makes it through 2 rounds.

I love the concept but they need to make some improvements. 1. No slope capability. 2. No off button for the GPS and the shut off timer doesn’t work. 3. GPS display is hard to see even if backlight is on. It loses the course a few times a round so you have to reset it. I do like the idea and having the green distances is great. However, I hope they make some improvements on future models.

I spoke with Bushnell support (after a ridiculous 27 minute wait) and was informed that my $400 Hybrid rangefinder is not warranted against moisture entering the laser lens system. Their only suggestion was “put it in a bowl of rice”! Sudden rainstorms are a part of golf life and this unit failed after rain fell on the lens during a trip back to shelter – NOT from submersion or any extreme event outside normal golf experience. This is the THIRD BUSHNELL HYBRID I’ve had. The first had no serial number so I couldn’t register it. Bushnell’s response was “no big deal”. The second failed the FIRST ROUND I used it and was replaced by the retailer with no hassle (CUDOS US GOLF). Have had this one for a month and now it’s kaput. I’ll be buying laser rangefinders from other, more reliable companies and using a phone-based app for GPS. Was convenient having one unit with both functions but $400 is much too steep for a unit with no expectation of support from the manufacturer.

Good quality product that tells you everything you need to know regarding the hole you are playing. No downloading the charge lasts for 2 rounds plus. Front back and middle readings on both the screen and the lens is a great add from the last generation of this Rangefinder. It is a must have if you want to know specific yardage, hazard info and course detail.

I love the combination of conventional range finder and GPS distance.I like the clarity of the eye piece. Things are very clear, even at a great distance.I don’t like that I have to recharge the battery every time I use it.It does not have any slope or elevation correction. I don’t mind at all, but some users may prefer those features. As far as I know, there are no hybrid range finders with these features available.I use this range finder virtually every day and I truly love it.

GPS battery doesn’t hold a charge. If not charged right before the round it won’t last for 18 holes.

I used to have a golf buddy with just GPS and worked great until I left it in a cart. However, there are numerous times on Par 3s and pitches where flag distance needs to be more accurate and I find myself wishing for a range finder often. Well not anymore, this Hybrid is great for a glance at approximate distance using the GPS and the pinseeker technology makes the range finder easy and fast. I have used other range finders without pinseeker tech, and the difference is very noticeable…this range finder is so much better, easier and faster. Everything about it, even the case, is pretty great. I’m easy to please and can’t think of anything negative to say about it. I don’t foresee ever having to purchase another rangefinder again, unless I forget it in a cart (knock on wood).

Despite a 1 or 2yds difference with a previous bushnell model, laser works perfect. Its quick, accurate and pin sicker technology is fine. Gps does not work properly, at least in the courses i tryed it. Some times could not find course even thought it did previously. Im not sure if it is a course problem or a real gps issue. Some holes works grat some not.
