I read all the glowing reviews on other sites and checked out the machine at a local store before I purchased. Pros: it is fast and will probably last a long time. The dicing kit, although tough to clean and a bit awkward (be careful, it is sharp), works GREAT! I am looking forward to the complementary dicing blades when they eventually arrive (be sure to order when you register your machine via the Breville website before mid-Jan 2018 if you purchase!). There is very little waste in the machine itself after processing. Cons: I bought for french fries. DOES NOT WORK for that – at least not to my family’s visual preference. They are curved, and I’m back to doing that by hand again. The machine is so large and heavy it must stay out on counter. I had to rearrange my entire kitchen for this. The two storage compartments (plus the complementary dicing blades out of stock until after Jan 2018) required me to rearrange an entire cabinet as well. Complex storage for dicing kit/hard to put back in original locations so that it will fit under the main blade storage properly. Want to just use the smaller bowl? You CAN’T use it without the larger one, and since the larger one also gets dirty, you have to wash both. Love the idea of being able to adjust the size of slices I make, but I need wider than is possible for the roasted vegetables I make. I have to cut longer vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, potatoes) to fit in the machine. I now have to trim by hand to make them fit in the machine, even with the wider chute. Peeler function wastes significant amounts (in my opinion), and I have to clean too much afterward to make it worth it. I make my own tahini (toasted sesame seeds and olive oil), but this machine makes it very grainy instead of a smooth paste. In addition, since the blade doesn’t sit flush to the bottom of the bowl, some seeds get stuck underneath and always remained unprocessed. There are many crevices and pieces – and therefore places for the bowl and chute to get dirty. I definitely spend more time cleaning this than in any other food processor I’ve ever owned, and confess that I’ve come to dread having to use it because of the cleanup involved – and I use it about 5-6 times a week. I loved the idea of the storage bins and two sized bowls, but they are more trouble than they’re worth. Overall, even though I was thrilled to be able to purchase this, it did not live up to the hype or my perhaps unrealistic expectations. I’m not the type to return things, and will make the most of it that I can. I hope this review helps other think long and hard about this expensive purchase.Dec 6 2017 Update: I still am only giving this 2 stars after of month of almost daily use. I almost gave it away out of frustration, trying to put all the accessories back in their proper places. I have to fiddle with it each time (and often have to deposit $ in the swear jar afterward), but I have figured it out!1. Dicing blade (make sure it is clean – food particles often get stuck in it!) – put arrow pointing up, facing spindle for peeler. It will still rock and seem wrong, but it is correct!2. Safety cover goes on top of dicing blade.3. Dicing disc, with its own safety cover and the thing with no name or discernible purpose other than storage (circular with 6 spokes) on top of the dicing blade’s safety cover. I put the dicing distributor on top of the dicing disc as well.4. You’re almost done! PEELER is tricky until you notice there is an arrow on the peeler. Point its arrow toward the arrow on the storage container. Voila! You should now be able to put the larger storage container correctly on top! Hope this helps someone else!

Bought this machine based of the claim it could peel potatoes in a minute. I was fully prepared to return it if it didn’t peel, so that was the first test. And it worked.Interesting thing, it tells you that you can do 6 small round potatoes in 40 seconds, but my potatoes are never round, rather they are average size oval potatoes. So that meant you can only do 4 at a time, not a big deal, but also good to know they do t have to be perfectly round.Next I tried making fruit salad as their website and videos make it look so pretty and I was hopeful but scepticalYou can see from the picture, it worked. However it should be noted that I tried to do oranges and it didn’t work. Not sure if it was just because the bowl was too full (as I tried it last) or the oranges were too soft (will try again later).I then wanted to make Israeli salad. That’s diced up cucumbers and tomato salad. It works, but the cucumber squares are larger than I wanted them to be (1cm x 1 cm) and it only comes with one size dicer . Would be awesome if you could buy a finer dicer attachmentInstructions were ok, but a little confusing.Blades come in a storage container which is good, because they are incredibly sharpWhile you can put the blades in the dishwasher, you can’t put the main bowl in (shame)Key things to note is:A) I didn’t return itB) recommended this unit to friendsMuch better than my previous food processor that was also a top of the lineHope that helps

This thing is incredible! At first, we bought the 12-cup without the peel and dice feature. But, upon looking online, my husband noticed this one which HAS the peel and dice function and we returned the other and bought this one. This thing is incredible. It makes quick work at whatever I use it for. I have NOT used the peeling function nor the bread function as I use my Kitchenaid mixer for that but for everything else, this is what I choose. We have a dishwasher. We have three children who load and unload the dishwasher. BUT, I do a lot of handwashing. For some, handwashing the parts to this might be an issue. I can’t tell you what can or cannot be put into the dishwasher as I handwash all the parts. The reasons: 1. Safety for our children. The parts are very, VERY sharp. Care must be used when handling them. Therefore, after I’m done, I just wash everything which is actually really easy to do. Nothing gets stuck or trapped in small corners as there aren’t any. 2. I prefer to handwash things so I know where they are when I need them. Our younger 2 empty the dishwasher and oftentimes, things don’t go back to exactly where they are supposed to go. I had a set of measuring cups that have all but disappeared! No one knows where they are. It’s the “Not Me” kid again. He is here a lot. :/ In any event, the main reason for handwashing is for safety for our children.A tip: To make handwashing easier, run a bit of dish detergent and warm water through the bowl on pulse a few times. The bubbles from the detergent get to work loosening whatever I used it for and then, I simply dump it out and finish washing in the sink. EASY!It DOES take up a lot of space. So much so that my husband bought me a storage table from Wayfair so I would have the room to put this and other items that took up too much real estate on our countertops or in our cabinets. Ideally, I’d like the food processor moved to the counter and it will be after Christmas. However, the storage “garage” for the tools that go with this cannot be stored on their side so they must also live on this storage rack. It works fine for us as I only need to move it to the area I’m working but if you have a small kitchen or a kitchen that lacks storage space, this is something you must consider before purchasing. One thing my husband really loves is the fact that the motor has a 25-year warranty. NO ONE has this that I know of in the cooking/baking world. From reviews online, this thing lasts a long time so that’s an assurance for us. I was not happy with paying so much for something like this but after we did a great deal of research, we learned that this product has the BEST reviews in the area of food processors and it does so much. The reason for the 4-stars? Whenever I mince ginger in the small bowl, I also need to clean the larger bowl as inevitably, the larger bowl also gets food in it. Not a big deal but it’s something people need to know. Plus, the storage this thing needs- it’s huge. BUT, it does what it says it will do and it’s powerful. I almost never need to push the food through the shoot with the food pusher because it begins to do its job as soon as the item touches the bottom of the chute. Sometimes, I just need to give whatever the item is a nudge to help it finish up.I highly, HIGHLY recommend this. I’m still heartsick over the cost- another reason for the 4-stars but again, for what it does, for the amount I use it, for us, it’s well worth the price.

Well, I bought this item to save time but it was same time because I had to wash everything after each step, that takes a lot of time, yes, you can use dishwasher when you done, but most of dishes more complicated then one simple step.Second, I didn’t like what I can’t Slow down the speed and as a result I can’t create my favorite souse as it should to be. This is actually a huge minus, sometimes you need use slow speed but not with this processor. And finally for me it is way too bulky.Too much waste of potatoe/carrot/beets ( that I have tried to peel) not the ideal oval shape. The rest is fine, but this points make me return the processor. It is not cheap and I expected more

Great machine! However, locking the bowl in is not a great position. The handle is right in front where the panel is for running the machine. Other then that, the little I have used it so far, is fantastic. Love the engine. Although on the louder side, certainly not overwhelming at all or even high pitched, it’s a good sound unlike other models that are quite loud and high pitched. Believe what you read, blades are very, very sharp. Love the storage where all the blades and other parts fit. All in all, I highly recommend this wonderful piece of art in your kitchen. Absolutely no regrets!

I like to buy kitchen appliances that will last for about twenty years so I hope this one will. I am replacing a Braun food processor which has done very well for more than twenty years with a lot of use. I especially liked the fact that it could adjust the speed of the blade, whereas the Breville only has one speed. The reasons I went for the Brevelle are the following. First, it has many other features. Second, it has an adjustable slicing blade which really works well. Third, well maybe first, the hole that it has for receiving vegetables and so on is bigger than almost all other alternatives this gives you the opportunity to use whole onions, tomatoes, potatoes and so on. This is impossible on most other models. The only negative so far is the case for the attachments. It is a great idea, but the plastic is kind of cheap and has already cracked even though I have hardly touched it. Brevelle should think about investing maybe a dollar in a slightly better plastic for this component because other that that it is a really good product.

Love it, I haven’t used all the discs yet, or tried all the features, but it has a powerful motor, and it’s suprisingly quiet. Bought the two extra dicing discs which are sold separately and they arrived today. So far I’ve mixed up Green Goddess dressing, and made pie crust dough. Looking forward to preparing more things in this amazing machine.

I bought mine this week and tested it out for my usual “cooking for the week” session. It passed the test with flying colours. It julienned, diced, sliced and grated beautifully and quickly. It cut our food prep time in half.

I love it. The only Pb is that the dicing kit is big for what I want so I had to order a separate dicing kit from William Sonoma that offers 2 extra sizes. But I love every function so far I used to to peel potatoes, carrots, baby potatoes, made fries, shredding, chopping tomatoes and onions, made dough everything came out perfect

I use this all the time! It is fantastic! The dice just makes me smile every time I use it… it’s made all food prep so much faster and simpler… it’s easy to clean. It sits on my counter and is used regularly. I love it!

I absolutely love this food processor! Its my second Breville appliance. I did a lot of research before I decided to buy this and I’m extremely pleased with everything about it. Everything about this appliance is high end. There is so much attention to detail and the designers are very thoughtful with making this powerful, elegant and easy to use food processor. If you’re looking for the best, this is it!
