Creamy milk and hot chocolate maker. Hot milk drinks are best when made with the smallest bubbles. Rather than a bubble bath, it’s that creamy consistency that creates a rich hot chocolate or a smooth latte or cappuccino.

The Milk Café uses induction heating and spinning to make those small bubbles. Simply choose the appropriate frothing disc latte for a creamy result, the cappuccino disc for more froth fill with enough milk for one or up to three cups, select your temperature, and start.

The Milk Café will froth and turn itself off when the desired temperature is achieved … NOTE: Kindly refer to the user manual for any trouble shooting or guidelines regarding the item. Voltage: 110–120 Volts

I loved this kitchen item and I’ve had it a little less than 2 years. Just last week my Breville CAUGHT ON FIRE on my counter!!! I’ve contacted Breville and asked what could be done and no one got back to me. I am very disappointed in the customer support. I am disappointed that I paid so much money for an item that should have lasted longer. If the company would contact me and get this worked out, I would leave a good review. But since this kitchen item caught fire on my counter and burnt up for no reason, and then the company never contacted me, then I am leaving a bad review. If the company can’t do a better job than this with their customer support, then you shouldn’t buy their product to begin with.

Why is this not being recalled? I have see other posts like this. After less than a year, mine has had its heating element burn right through the housing and welded itself to the pot. As a former firefighter, I can tell you that This item is a major fire hazard with a design defect. Breville, recall this now!!!

We’ve had this product about 9 months. It recently stopped frothing. All the buttons work. It looks new. Just stopped heating and frothing. Over a week and no word from tech support when I reached out.I’ve had a lot of Breville products over the years. I haven’t had one of them last much over 3 years. This one didn’t even last a year. To pay top dollar for mediocre products, it is not worth it. If it lasted, this machine is great. I hope their support will get back to me with an easy solution. Normally they want me to spend a fortune on shipping their product back for service. That is a waste of time and money for new products.

Don’t Bother Buying This.CHAPTER 1:We bought our first one and It arrived relatively promptly and we plugged it in word and milk turned it on and had Great froth for coffee. The unit appears well built in one of the nice features is that it is very easy to clean and maintain. It is a bit large if you’re only making froth for one or two people.Unfortunately, the great froth lasted about 36 days (just past the return period). The unit was working but produced poor to no froth ( huge difference from previous). We contacted the seller, who treated us like idiots taking us through all the problem-solving such as making sure it was plugged in, making sure the frothing bit with secure, making sure we were filling the milk above the required line. After we prove to them that we were doing all of this correctly, they agreed to exchange the unit ( minus shipping – which Amazon made us whole – thank you Amazon!).CHAPTER 2:We received the second unit and it worked great making thick froth for 46 days, then it made rather poor froth again. We fussed with it, making sure the frothing disc was tight, container was ultra clean etc. No change – poor froth. We went through the same idiot dance with the seller who seem satisfied we were operating the unit correctly. They would not issue a refund because we were past the 30 day window, and offered to another exchange. We asked them to make an exception since this was the second defective/ broken unit, but they said they could do nothing more. For $140 ( the most expensive frother) our expectation was for the product to last much more than a month or two. Not interested in exchanging a unit every 1-2 months until warranty runs out at 6 months.CHAPTER 3:We contacted Amazon to explain the situation to them and they are in the process of contacting the seller and exerting some pressure on them given the recurrence of product break down, and so shortly after ordering. If we are successful, this will only be because of Amazons interest in us as their customers, NOT the seller’s interest in valuing their customer.Four years, we used a cheap little battery operated wand which we purchased at IKEA for $2.99. Granted, the froth that this cheap wand made was only 80% as good as Brevelle’s froth, even these cheap units lasted three months or more until we had to replace them. Not an issue when you’re purchasing for $2.99. For the price of this Brevelle, absolutely unacceptable! Will keep you updated

If you use almond milk or any other type of milk that isn’t cows milk the machine will not give you what you expect. It heats up the milk but didn’t give me what I was used to from the lattes that you get at coffee shops. Just be prepared so that you’re not disappointed like I was.

Purchased this to replace a Nespresso Aeroccino 3 that worked really well for around 4 years before finally crapping out. Functionality of this Breville frother is fine as advertised – I tried it with hot and cold and it was comparable to the Aeroccino. I really like the fact that canister can be removed and washed more thoroughly compared to Nespresso Aeroccino – this was my only complaint with the Aeroccino, that it was difficult to clean and would routinely have burnt milk coating that had to be gently scraped to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. What I really dislike about the Breville frother is due to the massive size of this unit. It is as big as a blender, so its kitchen counter footprint is around twice that of the Aeroccino. My counter is already crowded enough. And more importantly, this product REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 1 FULL CUP OF MILK to function properly. This is the biggest difference and the ultimate deal killer for me (thus why I am returning this item) – I use around 1/2 cup of milk to make a latte. While I often make 2 drinks at a time – my wife likes cold frothed milk while I prefer hot, so I need to run the machine twice with smaller batch of milk, and this is not possible with the Breville. On the other hand, with the Aeroccino, I believe there isn’t really a minimum and the maximum is around 1 cup.So, unless you like a LOT OF MILK in your drink or are using this to make multiple drinks every time you use this machine, you’d be better off with the Aeroccino. I just with Breville / Amazon were more explicit about this in the product description.

I LOVE this! I have been in the coffee field for 10 years now. I have always loved being able to froth milk with the steam wand, but this, this machine is LOVELY! Because it stirs from the bottom the froth is thicker and more consistent that that from a steam wand! For cold drinks it froths cream into a lovely soft silky yummy topping!I haven’t had this machine long, but I love it!

Long time owner of multiple Nespresso Aeroccino’s, I was sick of the teflon peeling away after 6 months, making the unit very difficult to clean, if not impossible. The milk was burning and sticking above the heater element. And if you leave the milk in the unit for more than 15 seconds, it’s hard to pour. Now for the Breville : first impression, it’s a bit bulky and takes more space on the counter. It also takes a little longer to heat up the milk and t’s a little noisier. That’s it for the slight negatives. Otherwise, the temperature is adjustable and the mixing cup is removable. It heats via induction. So no sticking which makes it EXTREMELY easy to clean and can even go in the dishwasher. There are two mixing paddles, one for latté’s and the other for cappuccinos. I prefer the last one, the milk is smoother. I strongly recommend it and personally would not go back to Aeroccino.

I’ve only had it 14 months and it stopped working! I loved it, I use it everyday, now today its dead as a door nail and just past the warranty period. Not happy.Update: I’ve looked closer and see that the inside where the carafe sits is totally cracked like the insides have expanded from high heat. Since I am 2 months past warranty I highly doubt I will get help from Breville.

I own two other less expensive milk frothers. Both of them get to a point when they don’t make great froth. The Breville lets you serve barista coffees with each use. The stainless steel container is so easy to clean, unlike cheaper models with a teflon interior that causes the hot milk to leave a crusty residue that you have to gently scrub out. Also, the Breville makes a range of other drinks besides latte and cappuccino. At first, I was disappointed because the minimum line for liquids is quite high and uses a lot of milk. But, I discovered that you can use a smaller amount of milk that is good for a single serving of coffee, and it froths beautifully when you set the machine to the highest temperature. If you want enough froth for three or four designer coffees, the Breville container is big enough to handle the job in one cycle. That’s not the case for cheaper models. It is worth its high price as an investment for your kitchen and to impress your guests with your barista skills.I experimented until I was able to make a coffee just the way I like it. See the photos above. I used 3% milk and the cappuccino frothing disc to make that awesome better-than-Starbucks coffee at home. I only poured enough milk into the frother to cover the disc. That is below the minimum line. I set the temperature to max. Voila! A perfect barista coffee for one person.

Don’t expect this item to last forever. Took a little more than a year for the plastic to start cracking. Before you buy, look at the bad reviews, they all have the same problem. All the good reviews are just after a few uses. Yes, it works great when it’s new, it’s really easy to clean. But I would’ve expected a lot more from a $159.99 item. I’m the only user in the house, I used it less than once a day. And today it died. Took a picture, after removing some of the plastic pieces.I did not abuse it, I was rather gentle when using it, it cracked all by itself from normal uses.Too bad, I liked it. Now it’s dead.I’m not buying this one again. And I can’t recommend it. Not for that price.

The machine is awesome but do not expect it to last. Ours got some smoke within the first year and limped for another until it finally died. Plastic housing cracked and spinners kind of rubbing in the shaft so not so good at normal wear. Used on weekends only so may be 100-150 cycles before kaput.Bought a second one (this one) because could not find anything better in the market. Planning to buy another two years from now when this one goes to machine heaven.

I really love this frother. I had previously purchased and returned the Secura frother because it scorched the milk and left a residue stuck to the teflon coating that had to be scrubbed off every time. The Breville is stainless steel and has a temperature control which I love. It produces a lot of foam even with the latte disk. I don’t mind, I just pour as much of the foam as I want into my mug and discard the rest. I have been using it for about a month now. I use the Nespresso Inissia to make the espresso and then pour in the frothed milk from the Breville. I had did some research and the Breville seemed like a better option than Nespresso’s aeroccino.

This is a long term review as this was bought December 2017 and used nearly daily ever since. The ability to froth milk to a fine bubble was always lacking in our home and something I wanted to remedy with this 2017 Christmas family gift.First off the price, it was surprisingly much cheaper here than local shops that deal with Breville. I would have thought standard pricing would be in effect but that was quite wrong. So from Amazon we did buy. We also have Amazon Prime so it did arrive the next day, literally within hours. The Amazon box and Breville box were both in perfect condition so we started out right. When I opened the Breville box you can tell it was factory brand new and never been opened because the cardboard has not been pressed back as when a box has been opened. One of my tells that I always look for to see if something was previously opened or factory brand new. Some general thoughts:When it was first held you can feel the weight of this machine to me that means quality.Nice brushed stainless steel has reduced the finger print thing for the years that we’ve used this frother. The measuring cup itself a heavy stainless steel and not some thin metal. Again you can feel that quality in weight.A small touch but the ability to remove the center of the measuring cap so you can add your flavoring or powder while the machine is running is quite convenient.Automatic off is always a nice feature and something we’ve enjoyed, no worries about having the thought in the back of the mind, ‘ was it turned off before we left ?! ‘ .The ease of cleaning on the cup is great. We only machine wash this and there are zero concerns about rust. The two frothing disks we just throw in the cutlery basket and it’s kept snug right there in the washing machine.Time. That is one thing that is great, this thing is fast. 2-3 minutes is all it takes for us. The induction heating method is always very efficient and quick. One nice thing is the cord management that this frother does have. On the bottom you can wind the cord up within the base of the machine so if you only need a short cord that specific amount can be unwound and used while the rest is still coiled with the base. If you need the entire long length, just uncoil that entire length. Another small touch but something that shows this machine was given practical thought of how it would be used by their customers ! Kudos BrevilleLast but certainly not least, the results…the foam…the froth. Amazing. Small bubble, that lasting bubble, bubble you can write home about.Enough with this writing, I’m going to make another cup.Helpful, is how I hope you find my review

Everything I had ever hoped! The magnetic frother works so well and because it doesn’t need to attach physically the container is easy to clean. Breville always has the best appliances and this one is no exception! The dial is adjustable to your heat preference and it shuts off automatically once it reaches the right temperature. Have used to several times to heat up milk for cappuccinos and it hasn’t disappointed. The only thing I don’t like about it is the minimum amount of milk that must be used. I don’t use all of it each time so there’s quite a bit of milk wasted. Also the frother attachments are quite small so I can see them going missing easily. Other than that, the quality can’t be beat! No burnt milk; easy to clean; simple to use.
